Auburn went 2-2 last week, moving to 19-10 overall, 5-4 in SEC play ... The Tigers moved into the national rankings at the start of the week, earning a top-25 position in four of five national polls ... Auburn was ranked No. 20 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 21 by Baseball America, No. 24 by Perfect Game and No. 25 by NCBWA ... It was the first time for Auburn to appear in the top 25 since the week of April 2, 2012 ... Auburn won its lone midweek game, taking a 10-5 win over Kennesaw State to sweep the two-game season series ... Auburn then lost its first SEC series of the season, dropping the first two games to Missouri by scores of 4-3 and 4-2 before salvaging a win in Saturday's series finale, 7-3 ... With the series loss, Auburn's SEC-best streak of five consecutive league series victories came to an end ... Missouri has won series from Auburn in three straight seasons, including the season-opening series in 2012 before Mizzou joined the league the next year
Saturday's win marked the 700th career victory for Head Coach Sunny Golloway ... He won a combined 681 games over 17 seasons at Oral Roberts and Oklahoma before winning 19 of his first 29 games at Auburn.
Auburn wrapped up the month of March with a 15-5 (.750) record, the highest winning percentage in a single month (min. 10 games) since going 12-4 (.750) in May 2010 ... The Tigers' 15 wins were the most in a single month since also winning 15 times in March 2009 and tied South Carolina and Alabama for the most by any team in the SEC this month.
For the week, sophomore Jordan Ebert batted .500 (9-18), scoring four times and driving in three runs ... Daniel Robert (.444), Damek Tomscha (.438) and Blake Austin (.429) all hit above the .400 mark for the week ... Senior Jay Wade pitched 6.1 scoreless innings across three appearances during the week, picking up a save in Saturday's win ... Opponents batted just .091 against Wade during the week.
Through the first two months of the season, Auburn owns the SEC's second-best overall batting average (.302) ... The Tigers have the best average in conference games (.312) through three weeks of league play ... Senior Damek Tomscha (.391) and sophomore Jordan Ebert (.388) have the top two individual batting averages in the SEC through two months of the regular season ... Keegan Thompson has the second-best ERA among league starters (1.03), is tied for the league lead in innings pitched (52.1) and ranks sixth in the league in strikeouts (42) ... Opponents are batting just .142 against Thompson, best in the SEC among pitchers that have met minimums.
Auburn will wrap up a five-game home stand Tuesday night with a 6 p.m. contest vs. Samford at Plainsman Park ... The Tigers will play their second SEC road series of the season as they take on Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., next Friday-Sunday ... Game times are set for 6:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.; Sunday's game will be televised by CSS.
