Six Former Tigers On Opening Day MLB Rosters

AUBURN, Ala. - Six former Auburn baseball players were on Opening Day rosters on Monday afternoon as Major League Baseball opened up the 2008 season.

Clete Thomas (2003-05) became the latest former Tiger to make it to the big leagues as he is on the Detroit Tigers' roster while Frank Thomas (1987-89) begins his 18th year in the big leagues, playing his second straight for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Other former Tigers on MLB rosters are Chris Bootcheck (1998-00) with the Los Angeles Angels, Gabe Gross (1999-01) with the Milwaukee Brewers, Tim Hudson (1996-97) with the Atlanta Braves and David Ross (1996-97) with the Cincinnati Reds.

With Clete Thomas making his debut on Monday, Auburn has now had 30 former players make the big leagues.
