Tigers Head To Mobile For Tuesday Night Game At South Alabama

AUBURN, Ala. - Fresh off a series win over Vanderbilt last weekend and winners of its last 12 non-conference games, Auburn heads to Mobile on Tuesday night for its annual trip to Stanky Field to take on South Alabama. First pitch is set for 6pm CT.
Auburn is 18-9 overall while South Alabama comes into Tuesday's game 11-15.
Auburn will throw Fr. RHP Dexter Price (3-0, 4.68) while South Alabama is scheduled to throw Jr. LHP Chris LaGrow (0-0, 6.00).

AUBURN STEPS OUT OF CONFERENCE FOR SINGLE GAME: Auburn will play a single non-conference game this week, traveling to South Alabama on Tuesday night ... Auburn is 14-4 in non-conference play this year, having won 12 straight non-SEC games ... In non-conference games only, Auburn is hitting .313 with 42 doubles, eight triples and 43 home runs while the pitching staff has a 5.14 ERA in 166 1/3 innings with 154 strikeouts against 205 hits and 60 walks (1.59 WHIP).
ANOTHER RUNG CLIMBED: When Auburn hit five home runs on Sunday, it moved the team into a tie for seventh on the single-season home run list, equaling in 27 games what the 2008 team did in 56 games ... Auburn needs to hit two more home runs to become just the sixth Auburn team to hit 60-or-more in a season ... Auburn is averaging 2.15 home runs per game this year, and that goes up to 2.39 in non-conference games.
ROADIES: Auburn is 4-3 in games played away from Plainsman Park and 3-3 in games played on the opponents' home field ... The Tigers are hitting .264 in true road games, a big drop from the team's overall .301 batting average ... The pitching staff also has a higher ERA on the road, checking in at 6.46 in road games versus 5.65 overall ... Joseph Sanders has the highest road batting average at .476 (10-for-21) with two doubles and seven home runs.
COMEBACK KIDS: Of Auburn's 18 wins this season, eight of them have featured Auburn comebacks, six of which came after the fifth inning ... The latest come-from-behind win was Saturday's 5-3 win over Vanderbilt, which Auburn trailed 1-0 after the top of the second.
FIVE GAMERS: Sr. OF Ben Jones and So. C Tony Caldwell each bring five-game hitting streaks into Tuesday's tilt at South Alabama ... Caldwell has been on fire during the streak, hitting .579 (11-for-19) with a double, home run, six RBI and seven runs scored while Jones is hitting .263 (5-for-19) with a home run, four RBI and five runs scored ... Caldwell started his hitting streak with a three-hit game, followed that with a four-hit game and then had a two-hit game in Sunday's 11-10 win over Vanderbilt, his fifth game in the streak.
EARLY RISERS: Auburn has outscored its opponents 33-7 in first innings and 59-19 over the first two innings this season, hitting 15 first-inning home runs and six second-inning homers ... Of the seven first-inning runs allowed, three were against Florida State (over two games) while the other four came in the series finale with Arkansas (March 22) ... So. OF Trent Mummey has four leadoff home runs on the season while So. OF Brian Fletcher, So. OF/IF Kevin Patterson and Jr. IF Joseph Sanders have each hit three first-inning homers.

In his five previous starts, he is 3-0 with a 4.68 ERA but also has the good fortune of receiving 13.4 runs per game of run support, the most of any starter with at least five starts ... Auburn is 5-0 in games in which Price starts this year.
