Auburn went 4-1 last week (2-1 SEC) to improve to 13-7 overall, 2-1 in SEC play for the season ... The Tigers swept a pair of midweek games, winning on the road at Kennesaw State (6-1) Tuesday night, then taking a come-from-behind, 6-5 win over Alabama State on Wednesday ... Auburn and first-year head coach Sunny Golloway got their first taste of SEC action, taking two of three from Texas A&M ... The Tigers got a complete-game shutout from senior Dillon Ortman in a 4-0 win Friday night ... Freshman Keegan Thompson also went the distance in a 5-2 win in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader ... It was the first time for Auburn to throw back-to-back complete games since Cory Luckie and Grant Dayton did it at Vanderbilt (4/17-18/10) ... Texas A&M took the final game of the series, 9-0, to snap a seven-game Auburn winning streak ... Tuesday’s win over Kennesaw State was the Tigers’ second one-hitter of the season as four pitchers - Justin Camp, Terrance Dedrick, Jay Wade and Rocky McCord - combined to hold the Owls to just one hit in a 6-1 win ... Auburn had gone 12 years between one-hitters prior to the start of this month, and then pitched two one-hitters in a span of 11 days (Keegan Thompson, complete-game one-hitter vs. Presbyterian 3/1) ... Wednesday’s game against Alabama State saw Damek Tomscha hit a home run for the third consecutive game ... Ryan Tella also homered for the Tigers, giving Auburn its first multi-home run game of the season ... Senior Dillon Ortman (4-1) pitched Auburn’s second complete-game shutout of the season in his second career SEC start, holding Texas A&M to four hits in a 4-0 win ... It was the longest outing of Ortman’s career and his first win as a starter in an SEC game ... Auburn’s Friday night win was its first in an SEC opener since 2010 ... The complete-game shutout for Ortman was Auburn’s first in a conference game since 2011 (Derek Varnadore vs. Georgia, 5/7) ... The Tigers made it back-to-back complete games Saturday as Keegan Thompson (4-0) went the distance in a 5-2 win over Texas A&M as Auburn clinched the series ... It was Thompson’s second complete game this season, and he has gone 7+ innings in his last four starts ... He struck out a career-high 10 batters, including the final three in the ninth inning ... Auburn clinched its opening SEC series for the sixth time in the last seven seasons ...
