The third annual Strike Out Cancer 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 9am on the campus of Auburn University. The fundraiser, which benefits the East Alabama Cancer Center in honor of Mary Louise Pawlowski for her battle with cancer, has raised over $12,000 in the first two years.
Participants that run in the race, which begins and ends at Plainsman Park and takes runners around the campus, will receive a t-shirt and a voucher for a free ticket to the Auburn-Vanderbilt baseball game set for 6pm that same day.
Participants can register early by online at au4mlp.org for $15 or $20 the day of the race.
A "Fun Run" will take place at 9am for kids 12-and-under and the 5K race will follow it. Following the 5K there will be an awards ceremony, where the top three male and female runners in each age group will receive an award.
