Saturday's Auburn-Tennessee Baseball Game Rained Out

    March 14, 2009

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Auburn and Tennessee tried to wait it out but persistent rain since the ninth inning of Friday night's game in Knoxville forced the postponement of Saturday's baseball game in the opening SEC series for both teams. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon CT. Both games will be seven-inning contests.

Auburn won the series opener on Friday night, 4-2, behind the dominating pitching of Grant Dayton and the bats of Hunter Morris and Joseph Sanders, who each hit solo home runs, and Casey McElroy and Ben Jones, who each pushed a RBI across the board.

Auburn (12-4, 1-0 SEC) is on a 10-game winning streak while Tennessee sits at .500 (7-7, 0-1 SEC).
