Auburn went 3-1 last week to improve to 9-6 on the season ... The Tigers lost the Capital City Classic for the first time in six years, dropping a 4-3 decision on Wednesday to Alabama in Montgomery ... Auburn bounced back with a weekend sweep of Mercer, winning by scores of 9-5 (Friday), 4-1 (Saturday) and 6-5 (Sunday) ... It was Auburn’s first three-game sweep since taking three straight against Brown in the final non-conference weekend of the 2013 season (March 8-10) ... Redshirt sophomore Justin Camp pitched 6.1 innings in a career-long start against Alabama on Wednesday, striking out four while allowing three earned runs on nine hits ... An error in the ninth allowed the winning run to score for Alabama, giving the Crimson Tide their first win in six meetings in the Capital City Classic ... Trey Cochran-Gill (0-1) was charged with the loss, giving up one unearned run ... Dan Glevenyak hit his first home run of the season and the fourth of his career in the game for one of Auburn’s three hits ... The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, but was rained out ... Senior Dillon Ortman (3-1) had his second quality start of the year, giving up two earned runs (three total) in 7.2 innings and picked up the win Friday over Mercer ... Freshman Keegan Thompson (3-0) remained stellar as a starting pitcher, running his scoreless streak to 16.0 innings with seven innings of shutout ball in a 4-1 win over Mercer on Saturday ... Thompson dropped his ERA to 0.30 for the season having surrendered just one earned run in 30.0 innings ... The Tigers earned their first walk-off win of the season with a 6-5 victory over Mercer on Sunday to finish off the weekend sweep ... A bases-loaded, 2-out RBI single from Ryan Tella drove home Jordan Ebert for the winning run after Auburn had given up three runs in the top of the ninth to let Mercer tie the game at 5-5 ... Junior Michael O’Neal finally got some run support, leaving the game with a 4-2 lead after pitching 6.2 innings while giving up no earned runs and issuing no walks ... The four runs by the Tiger offense marked the first runs Auburn has scored during an O’Neal start this season ... Jordan Ebert was 6-for-11 (.545) during the week, drawing three walks vs. Alabama and recording three hits in both the Friday and Sunday wins over Mercer ... Damek Tomscha hit .333/.500/1.000 in the three-game series with Mercer, slugging a pair of home runs on the weekend ... Tomscha now has three of Auburn’s four home runs on the season ... The Tigers stole 10 bases during the week, giving them 35 for the season ... The 35 stolen bases are two more than Auburn stole all of the 2013 season ... Glevenyak leads the Tigers with seven steals on eight attempts ... Auburn will play two midweek games before opening conference play this weekend ...
