AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's baseball team will appear on regional or national television at least eight times during the 2014 season as the Southeastern Conference released the league's TV schedule Thursday.
Six of the eight televised Auburn contests will originate from Plainsman Park, including two nationally televised contests.
The highlights of the season include an appearance on ESPNU's Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week on Thursday, March 27, as the Tigers host Missouri at 6:30 p.m. The Saturday game of that series will also be on TV with FSN carrying the broadcast beginning at noon.
Auburn will make one more national TV appearance on Saturday, April 19, as Auburn's game against South Carolina will be televised on the CBS Sports Network with first pitch at 4 p.m. CSS will carry the Sunday game of the South Carolina series with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
The Tigers' other two home television appearances will come in the season's final month. Auburn's contest with Mississippi State on Saturday, May 3, will be moved to a 6 p.m. start and televised by CSS, and the Tigers' season finale against LSU on Saturday, May 17, will be broadcast by FSN at 1 p.m.
Two road games will be televised as well. The Tigers' game at Tennessee on Saturday, March 22 (3 p.m.), and the series finale at Ole Miss on Sunday, April 6 (1:30 p.m.) will both be televised by CSS.
All games in the 2014 SEC Tournament will be televised regionally, with the semifinal games (ESPNEWS) and championship game (ESPN2) airing nationally. Most televised contests will also be available online via WatchESPN/ESPN3.
SEC schools maintain the rights to air additional games this season not included in the SEC package with various television outlets, including official SEC regional television outlets. More than 60 additional games will be broadcast via those means, bringing the total number of SEC baseball games broadcast in 2014 to well over 130.
