Justin Bryant returns in 2012 after missing almost all of the 2011 season due to injury
Jan. 27, 2012
The Auburn baseball team kicked off the 2012 season with its first official team practice on Friday afternoon, getting things started with BP and infielder/outfield work before holding the first intrasquad scrimmage of the spring after an hour into practice.
"It's exciting to get back out here," senior utility player Justin Bryant said. "It's seems like forever since we have been out here and it had some meaning to it."
"It's good to be back practicing as a team," Auburn Head Coach John Pawlowski said. "It's time to see what guys can do. We are looking forward to getting this thing started."
Auburn will be trying to replace virtually its entire offense from last season as it lost seven of its top nine hitters from last year while the pitching staff returns largely intact.
The team also brought in 17 newcomers which will allow Pawlowski and his staff to infuse fresh talent with the veterans already on the club.
Auburn will play its first game on Friday, Feb. 17, when it plays host to Missouri. Season tickets are already on sale while individual game tickets can be purchase beginning Feb. 13.
