FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
Auburn senior Derek Sain drew a pair of walks and scored a pair of runs while classmate Tyler Johnstone stroked three hits in the final collegiate game for both as Auburn fell to #15 Arkansas, 11-2, on Saturday afternoon in the season finale for the Tigers. The loss closed the books on the season for the Tigers, who finished the year 22-34, 9-21 SEC.
Johnstone singled in Sain for the first run of the game in the top of the second only to see the Hogs respond with two in the bottom half of the inning on Brian Walker's third home run of the weekend, a two-run shot off the scoreboard in right-center.
Arkansas' Danny Hamblin and David Hum then hit back-to-back homers with two outs in the third to make it 4-1 and the Hogs piled it on from there on out, scoring three in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the seventh.
