COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri used a three-run third to claim a 3-1 win over Auburn in game one of Sunday doubleheader at Taylor Field. The loss dropped Auburn to 25-17, 7-13 SEC while Missouri improved to 14-24, 6-14.

Missouri used two singles, two hit batters and a sac fly to score all of its runs. Shane Segovia led off the third with a single and went to second when Logan Pearson was hit by a pitch. A sac bunt put both runners in scoring position for Dane Opel, who was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Keaton Steele then launched a shot down the left field line that would have been a grand slam but went just foul before hitting a sac fly to tie it at 1-1. The sac fly also advanced the other two runners into scoring position for Dylan Kelly, who lined one into right to score both for the two-run lead.

The loss was the first for Michael O'Neal (8-3) since March 23 at LSU as he was charged for all three runs on three hits in the complete-game loss, striking out three. It also marked Auburn's first loss in the second game of a SEC series since O'Neal's loss at LSU.

Keaton Steele (4-2) threw a complete game for Missouri, scattering six hits and a walk while striking out two, allowing a run.

Auburn took a 1-0 lead in the first on Garrett Cooper's RBI single to right, which scored Ryan Tella after he walked to lead off the game.

Both doubleheader games are only seven innings, per SEC rules.

The two teams will close out the series with the second game of the doubleheader at 2pm.
