Had a five-game hitting streak from March 7-12 which concluded with a three-hit game against Appalachian State in which he had a pair of doubles ... Hit .273 in April (6-for-22), scoring five runs with a double and four RBI ... Drew a RBI walk as a pinch-hitter on April 22 vs. Samford ... Walked and scored the game-tying run in evental 7-6 loss to South Carolina on April 11 ... Made the start in centerfield vs. Mississippi Valley State on April 9 and went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI from the leadoff spot ... It was the first time he hit leadoff in his AU career ... 2006 (FRESHMAN): Saw action in 20 games, starting four ... Hit .226 with two 2B and 3 R ... Was used primarily as a lefthanded pinch hitter off the bench, hitting .300 in that role as well as a late-innings defensive substitution ... Four starts all came as the DH.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner for Mike Burns at Decatur High School ... Hit .439 with eight home runs as a senior ... Over the course of his three-year career, he hit 17 home runs ... Honorable mention all-state in 2004 and 2005 ... First-Team All-State selection by the Birmingham News in 2005 ... Decatur Daily 2005 Player of the Year ...
