AUBURN — Pace. Pace. Pace.

That was again the command from Gus Malzahn, and the Tigers obliged with a drill in which quarterbacks Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace took turns running the hurry-up offense.

Practice 9 was a little different, at least in the early stages, because the quarterbacks mixed in passing with the run in the quick drill. The early drills had just featured passing.

Running back Tre Mason, who has been limited with injury, was catching kicks, along with Joshua Holsey, Corey Grant, Ricardo Louis, Jonathan Jones and Chris Davis.

Grant, Cameron Artis-Payne and Patrick Lymon were the running backs, with all getting equal carries.

All of Friday is a warm-up for Saturday's scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium. It figures to be an important one. It's likely the last full-scale scrimmage before the April 20 A-Day Game.
