AUBURN — The loudspeaker told Auburn's special teams, and just everybody else, to go outside and practice punting. The quarterbacks, running backs and receiver Sammie Coates stayed in the indoor facility in the early part of Wednesday's practice for a little one-on-one time with offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.
Lashlee grabs minutes where he can during spring practice to talk to his quarterbacks.
That done, the team returned for scripted plays with quarterbacks Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace taking turns running the show. Frazier went first, though on April 3, that probably means nothing. His receivers were Coates, Trovon Reed and Jaylon Denson.
A few of the scripted short passes?
Wallace to Corey Grant
Frazier to Coates
Wallace to Coates
Frazier to Cameron Artis-Payne
Wallace to Patrick Lymon
Frazier to Melvin Ray
The aforementioned punting drills? Reed, Quan Bray, Chris Davis and Robenson Therezie were among the players that returned punts.
