Auburn, Ala. -
Auburn football player Eric Brock and Auburn softball player Brittany Day were the special guest speakers at the Auburn Christian Academy Day Care Center on July 25.
Brock spoke on the importance of having good behavior and being respectful as the students prepare to go back to school. He also encouraged the students to stay positive, set goals and to encourage one another. Brock, originally from Alexander City, Ala, knew several of the children from his volunteer work at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lee County.
Day, a junior pitcher on the Auburn softball team, told the children a story from her childhood that encouraged the children to obey their parents and always tell the truth. She then gave the children the opportunity to tell her some of their goals for the upcoming school year.
The 30 students ranged in age from pre-school to 12 years old. Both Brock and Day led the group in a big "War Eagle" at the conclusion of their speeches.
