AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn men’s and women’s track and field teams were named All-Academic Teams, while seven student athletes were named All-Academic selections by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced on Tuesday. The women’s team recorded a team GPA of 3.23, and the men finished the academic year with a 3.06 cumulative team GPA.
Four women were named All-Academic individuals including Valentina Muzaric (3.77 GPA; Business Management), Ebony Morrison (3.49 GPA; Radio, TV & Film), Rachel Dincoff (3.48 GPA; Physical Activity & Health) and Samantha Scarlett (3.29 GPA; Economics).
Marcus Popenfoose (3.87 GPA; Interdisciplinary Studies), Stephen Saenz (3.68 GPA, Biomechanics) and Niklas Buhner (3.50 GPA; Marketing) represented the men’s team as All-Academic individuals.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
