AUBURN, Ala. - Two Auburn track and field athletes, seniors Jason Miller and Lizzie Briasco, were named to the Southeastern Community Service Team, the conference announced on Monday.

Miller has worked with the Auburn Food Bank as a volunteer, assisting with stocking shelves and packaging food for distribution. The Auburn Food Bank helps provide relief to families and individuals living within the boundaries of the Auburn City School District. The Auburn, Ala., native was a cross country representative for the Auburn University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for a year and a half before serving as SAAC Treasurer for the last two years.

Briasco is a campus food pantry volunteer and has organized weekly visits by Auburn student-athletes to participate in a Head Start program at local community center, working with local youth. Briasco participated in the Auburn Downtown Trick or Treat Event, and has served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Representative for track and field and was the Auburn SAAC’s Student Government liaison.

The league presents a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a male and female athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.
