Auburn men's and women's cross country teams honored by USTFCCCA

AUBURN, Ala.
-- The Auburn men's and women's cross country teams were both named Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday. Junior Kane Grimster and senior Samuel Mueller were named individual All-Academic honorees.

Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.25 or greater and must have finished as an All-American or among the 15 finishers (or 10 percent) in his regional meet. Grimster has a 3.67 GPA in journalism and finished 11th at the NCAA South Regional, while Mueller has a 3.42 GPA in pre-vet animal sciences and finished 15th at the NCAA South Regional.

Auburn was among 217 women's teams and 160 men's teams that earned All-Academic Team honors and one of 146 programs that had both their women's and men's team honored for the 2013 season. Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.00 or greater to qualify for the award.
