AUBURN, Ala. – Mark Rubalcaba posted a personal best to win the men’s triple jump on day one of the Texas Invitational on Friday night in Austin, Texas. With a mark of 50-2.5/15.30m, the sophomore currently ranks fifth in the SEC.
On her second throw, Kendra Mitchell threw a 152-5/46.46m in the women’s javelin. The senior finished third in the event, which was her third top-five finish of the outdoor season.
Sophomore John Putnam was the last Auburn competitor finished as he threw at 59.70m in the men’s javelin.
Auburn will continue with day two of the Texas Invitational tomorrow morning as field events get started at 10:30 a.m. with the men’s javelin and running events begin at 10:45 a.m. The meet will conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay at 3:30 p.m.
