AUBURN, Ala. -

The Auburn cross country team will run in its second meet of the season on Friday, Sept. 8 at the UTC Invitational/Powerade Opener hosted by UT-Chattanooga.  The meet will begin at 5:45 p.m. CT with the women's 3K, followed by the men's 5K.

Last week, the women won the third annual Cougar Invitational, hosted by Columbus State, while the men finished second.  Sophomore Laura Steele finished second in the 3K at 9:53, while sophomore Chase Oliver was fourth in the 5K at 16:21.  The women's win was the first team title since the squad won the Georgia State University Invitational on Sept. 11, 2004.
