Marc Burns Wins 100-Meter Dash At World Athletics Finals

MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Former Auburn sprinter Marc Burns won the 100-meter dash in a photo finish Saturday at the World Athletics Finals in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Burns, representing Trinidad & Tobago, finished with a time of 10.00, just one hundredth of a second ahead of Ghana's Aziz Zakari and Jamaica's Dwight Thomas. Zakari was given second while Thomas, who had celebrated victory as he crossed the line, had to be satisfied with third.

Meanwhile, former Auburn two-time national champion Leevan Sands finished fifth in the triple jump on Friday. Sands recorded a leap of 16.93m while representing the Bahamas.
