INDIANAPOLIS - Rising senior Reuben McCoy finished sixth in the finals of the men's 400m hurdles to highlight Saturday's action for current and former members of the Auburn track and field teams at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis.
McCoy, the only collegiate athlete to reach the finals, finished with a time of 50.08 seconds. McCoy had posted a time of 49.27 seconds on Friday to reach the finals.
In the women's 400m hurdles, former Tiger All-American Markita James advanced to the finals by finishing second in her semifinal heat with a time of 56.77.
Rising junior Raevan Harris placed 10th in the women's high jump, clearing a top mark of 1.80m (5-10.75) on her first try before missing all three jumps at 1.83m.
Rising senior Ty Akins, the NCAA champion in the 110m hurdles, had a tough time in his opening heat of the men's 110m hurdles, finishing sixth in his heat and 26th overall with a time of 14.09, which did not advance him to the semifinals.
Action at the USA Track and Field Championships concludes on Sunday.
Meanwhile, former Tiger Marc Burns finished fourth in the 100m at the Trinidad & Tobago National Championships on Saturday, clocking a time of 10.06 seconds.
