Penn Live Results | Meet Notes
AUBURN – Auburn track and field splits the squad in three directions this week, including a large contingent traveling to historic Franklin Field for the 119th Penn Relays.
Members of the Auburn team will also compete at the UCSD Triton Invitational in La Jolla, California as well as the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama. The weekend’s competition will be the final opportunity for Auburn athletes to tune up before the SEC Outdoor Championships on May 9-12 in Columbia, Missouri.
The Auburn men own the top seed in the 4x100m Relay Championship of American. The Tigers won the event last season in thrilling fashion with anchor leg Keenan Brock narrowly edging UTech Jamaica’s Andrew Fisher and LSU’s Shermund Allsop at the finish line in 39.34 seconds.
The championship was the seventh Penn Relays title all-time for the Auburn program.
Three legs from that race return including Marcus Rowland and Brock. Jeremy Hardy jumped in as the lead leg in the final after Harry Adams cramped up following the qualifying round.
Auburn will also compete in 13 other open events and two more relays at Franklin Field.
Competition begins on Thursday at Penn and in California before action picks up on Friday in Birmingham. For the latest on Auburn track and field, follow @AUTrack on Twitter.
