Track And Field Gets Weekend Competition Underway

AUBURN, Ala. - Just one member of the Auburn track and field teams was in action Friday at the Spec Towns National Team Invitational in Athens, Ga., as the Tigers began competition for the weekend. Freshman Wesley Wright competed in the men's hammer throw, finishing eighth with a mark of 56.09 meters (184-0). He missed posting a regional qualifying mark by just two feet, four inches. Most of the men's and women's team members will compete Saturday at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., while a few select field event athletes will continue competition in Georgia.
