Two members of the Auburn men's track and field team will travel to South Bend, Ind., to participate in the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. Senior Reuben McCoy and sophomore Eric Werskey will both compete on Saturday in the last chance qualifying event.

McCoy will compete in the 400m, where he is currently ranked No. 22 in the nation with a top time of 46.95. A 400m hurdles specialist during the outdoor season, McCoy finished third in the 400m at the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., last weekend, matching his season-best time.

Werskey will attempt to improve in the shot put, where he currently ranks 12th nationally with a throw of 18.52m (60-9.25) that he posted whle finishing second at the ISU Classic in Ames, Iowa.

McCoy and Werskey are hoping to join other teammates who have already qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Seniors Ty Akins (60m hurdles) and Jacob Dunkleberger (weight throw) have automatically qualified for the meet, while on the women's side, freshman Joanna Atkins (400m) and junior Raevan Harris (high jump) have posted provisional qualifying marks and appear to have spots locked up.

The NCAA will determine the field for the NCAA Indoor Championships on Monday, March 10. Athletes that qualify for the meet will compete March 14-15 in Fayetteville.
