Q: As a high school senior you set a new state record in the high jump. What records do aspire to break on the collegiate level?
A: First I would like to break the school record, and by my senior year, I hope to have broken the national record.
Q: You're from Tuscaloosa, home of the elephants and "Roll Tide". What made you come to Auburn?
A: Not going to Alabama was easy. I never really got into the Bama vs. Auburn thing. Growing up I wasn't a hardcore fan of either school. Honestly, I thought I would go to school at either Florida or Texas A&M, but once I came to visit Auburn I fell in love. The people were so nice and I loved the campus. I just really liked the whole atmosphere.
Q: If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life what meal would you choose to eat?
A: I would have to choose corn cooked any way, fried chicken, and yeast rolls.
Q: Name something interesting about yourself that few people know.
A: I have a brother who lives in Germany.
Q: Name the most exotic place you'd like to visit and why.
A: Madagascar, Africa. Going to Africa is something that I've always wanted to do, plus I`d like to see the wildlife. I think it would be a lot of fun.
Q: Growing up, what did you want to be (career-wise) and how has it changed since you've matured?
A: As a child I wanted to be a safari guide like those on the Discovery channel. I would watch T.V. and think that being a safari guide would be so much fun, but now that I'm older I feel that I would probably be too afraid of the animals to do a job like that.
Q: If you could spend your next birthday any way you wanted, what would you do to celebrate?
A: For my 19th birthday if I could celebrate any way I wanted, I would throw a party on an island with only my closest friends and family. Someplace far away and afterwards I would get some much-deserved rest. I would just sleep for a long time. I'd catch-up on all the sleep that I'm not getting now.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I like to talk on the phone, shop, and hang out with my close friends and family.
Q: What's the craziest thing you've experienced this year as a freshman?
A: This is kind of embarrassing. My craziest moment was the day I fell asleep in class with my hand resting on my face, I slobbered all over my hand, my hand slipped, and I bumped my forehead on the desk in front of everybody. It was embarrassing but it was funny.
Q: Name something you can do better than anyone else you know.
A: I am an excellent negotiator. When I really want something I will do anything to get it. I'll bug you till you give in or until you want to kill me, and I'm still alive so I must be really good at it.
