BIRMINGHAM – Auburn track and field opens the 2013 indoor season on Saturday at the Crimson Tide Indoor Opener at the Birmingham Crossplex.
“The people we will rely on this season are all returners and they all had a great fall, so we are excited to see them compete,” Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. “Our mindset for this first weekend is to get out there and compete. It gives us a good starting point. We are excited to get out there and get the ball rolling and get the competitive juices flowing.”
The Tigers enter the meet with national rankings for both the men’s (11th) and women’s teams (24th).
Close to 60 Auburn athletes are scheduled to compete in the one-day meet, including returning All-Americans Kai Selvon, Marcus Rowland and Keenan Brock – a Birmingham native.
Auburn will host its lone indoor home meet at the same facility next weekend.
