The 113th running of the Penn Relays began Thursday with what proved to be a light day of action for Auburn's participants, as the Tigers competed in just two events.
The Auburn women's 4x100m relay team posted the fastest time of the 89 teams that competed during the prelims Thursday afternoon. The team of Shaquela Williams, Tracy Ann Rowe, Danielle Gilchrist and Kerron Stewart posted a time of 44.62 seconds to earn the top spot in Friday's final.
The only other of Auburn's 17 competitors in attendance to compete on Thursday was freshman Laurel Pritchard, who competed in the women's 5,000m. Pritchard finished in 27th place with a time of 17:46.51.
Competition at the Penn Relays continues through Saturday, April 28.
