ATHENS, Ga. - Auburn sophomore thrower Valentina Muzaric won her second-straight shot put title with a top throw of 56-1.75 on Friday at the 2013 Spec Towns Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia.
The mark by Muzaric improves upon her Auburn record. She now owns the top three throws in program history.
In the women's hammer throw Daina Levy finished third with a top throw of 182-8 (55.67m), which came on her sixth and final attempt. Tori Nwadiogbu was fourth with a career-best throw of 178-4 (54.35m) to improve upon her previous mark by more than 15 feet.
Siobhan Ford-Holland placed third in the women's triple jump with a top mark of 39-6.5 (12.05m), her second-straight jump of more than 12 meters. Nicole Charley was sixth overall with a season-best jump of 38-8.75 (11.80m).
Freshman Parker Shearer finished sixth in his first collegiate decathlon with 5,792 points. Shearer's best event was a fourth-place finish in the 1500-meter run. He also had personal bests in the shot put (38-4.25/11.69m) and long jump (22-3.5/6.79m).
