ATHENS, Ga.-The Auburn University divers added to the Tigers' arsenal for the NCAA Championships Saturday night qualifying two from the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on the Georgia campus.

Freshmen Caesar Garcia and Andrew Sivulka each earned spots in the national meet by placing in the top 14 with a combination score from the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events.

"Overall I was pleased," head diving coach Jeff Shaffer said, "with how our program has progressed."\

Garcia finished eighth in the 3-meter with a score of 520.40, placed 12th in the 1-meter (283.80) and placed fifth in his strongest event, the platform (484.85). "Andrew (Sivulka) had to place sixth on the tower," Shaffer said, "he really stepped up."

Also competing for the Tigers on the weekend were freshmen Andrew Sivulka, who placed 10th on the 1-meter (255.65), 18th on the 3-meter (425.45) and tenth on the platform (319.55), and Halina Obremskey, who placed 28th on the 1-meter (211.45), 33rd on the 3-meter (221.45) and ninth on the platform with a score of 339.65.
