AUBURN DIVERS COMPETE AT GEORGIA DIVING INVITATIONAL-JANUARY 7, 2001
ATHENS, Ga.--The Auburn University divers finished the three-day Georgia Diving Invitational Sunday afternoon with four top-eight finishes in the course of the meet.
On day one, freshman Andrew Silvulka finished eighth in the one-meter diving event with a score of 256.70,while Freshman Caesar Garcia finished 11th (244.05).
Junior Halina Obremsky led the way the second day by placing eighth in three-meter diving (409.25). Teammate Ashley Rubenstein finished 15th in the preliminaries of the event on Friday (411.60).
On the final day, Garcia finished third in platform diving with a score of 494.45 and Silvulka was close behind in fifth place (435.10). Rubenstein finished ninth in the same event (3:07.55), while Obremsky finished 11th (305.10).
The men will compete next when the Auburn swimming and diving team takes on Texas in Auburn January 11 at 6 p.m. The Auburn women's swimming and diving team will travel to Knoxville to compete against Tennessee and Northwestern January 13 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
