Auburn Swim & Dive Tradition

Auburn Logo 2005 Men's NCAA Champions

The 2005 Auburn men's swimming and diving team became the third program since 1980 to win three straight NCAA titles, winning the team championship in the same pool where the Tigers captured their first crown in 1997 at the University Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Auburn used the first day of competition to jump out to a decisive lead and set the school record in the 200 freestyle relay, thanks to Fred Bosquet, who later on claimed the NCAA record with a time of 18.74 en route to the title and becoming the first swimmer to touch the wall in under 19 seconds.
