Swimming And Diving Set To Travel To Georgia Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn swimming and diving team concludes the 2010 portion of the season at the three-day Georgia Invitational. The meet is set to begin Friday and runs through Sunday at the Gabrielson Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia. "The team is ready for a tough, three-day competition this weekend," head coach Brett Hawke said. "We're excited for this meet because it is our last before the winter break and it will give us a chance to put together some solid swims and dives." The Tigers will be competing against five other schools during the meet. Host Georgia is the only other Southeastern Conference school, while the Big Ten's Penn State and Minnesota along with Kansas and Virginia are also set to compete. On the women's side of the pool, Georgia enters at the second-ranked team in the nation according to the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll. Virginia (No. 9), Auburn (No. 10) and Minnesota (No. 14) are also ranked. The Auburn men are the highest ranked team competing this weekend as the Tigers stand at No. 7 in the country. Virginia is the 11th-ranked team, while Georgia and Minnesota are tied at the No. 13 spot. Live results are available and can be found on Auburn swimming and diving's schedule website.
