Auburn Men Fifth, Women Sixth in Intitial CSCAA Rankings

AUBURN - Auburn's men's swimming & diving team is ranked No. 5 and the Tiger women are No. 6 in the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll of the season, which was released Wednesday. The Tiger men (2-0, 1-0 SEC) are the highest-ranked team in the Southeastern Conference, two spots ahead of No. 7 Florida and four ahead of No. 9 Georgia. Tennessee is ranked 13th, while LSU comes in at No. 20. Future conference mates Texas A&M and Missouri are ranked 18th and 24th, respectively, and Kentucky, Alabama and South Carolina are all receiving votes, as well as last week's opponent, Penn State. Auburn's women's squad (3-0, 1-0 SEC) is one of four SEC teams ranked in the nation's top 10. Upcoming opponent Georgia tops the national rankings with Florida at No. 4 and Tennessee rated No. 9. LSU comes in at No. 20, with future conference opponents Texas A&M ranked No. 10 and Missouri at No. 15. Kentucky and Alabama also received votes. Auburn will play host to Georgia in a matchup of top-10 programs Friday afternoon at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.
