IRVINE, Calif. - 10 Auburn swimmers are scheduled to compete in the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships at the William Woolett Jr. Aquatics Complex in Irvine, Calif. this week. The five-day meet begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday.
Allen Browning, Kyle Darmody, Michael Duderstadt and Tommy McKee will represent the Auburn men. On the women' side, Annie Lazor, Alexandria Merritt, Ashley Neidigh, Sarah Peterson, Sarah Reynolds and Jillian Vitarius will also compete for the Tigers.
52 swimmers (26 men, 26 women) will be selected at the conclusion of the meet to represent the United States at the Pan Pac Championships in Gold Coast, Australia, which begins Aug. 21. The winner of each Olympic event will earn a spot on the squad. The event also serves as a selection meet for the 2014 Jr. Pan Pac Championships, as well as the 2015 World Championships, 2015 World University Games and 2015 Pan American Games.
Three former Tigers will also be competing at the meet including 2012 Olympian Micah Lawrence, along with former Auburn swimmers Zane Grothe and Karl Krug. For a complete schedule of the meet, click here. To keep up with results for the U.S. Nationals, click here.
