Three Auburn swimmers medal at Commonwealth Games

AUBURN, Ala. -
Three former Auburn swimmers collceted four medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Adam Brown (England), James Disney-May (England) and Arianna-Vanderpool Wallace (Bahamas) competed for their home countries and also represented the Auburn program with impressive performances at the six-day event.

The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving 53 nations across the globe. Dating back to 1930, the Commonwealth Games is the third-largest sporting event in the world behind the Summer Olympics and Asian Games.

Former Tiger Adam Brown picked up a pair of medals at the Commonwealth Games, winning gold on England's 4x100 medley relay as the anchor. Brown also joined former Auburn teammate James Disney-May on England's 4x100 freestyle relay team to collect a bronze medal. Brown joined Disney-May once again, this time in the 100 freestyle final, touching in at 49.63 to take sixth overall. The six-time SEC Champion also appeared in the 50 freestyle final with former Tiger George Bovell.
 
It was an eventful week for the 2012 Olympian as Brown and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child back in the U.S. With the swimming poriton of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Brown is looking forward to coming back to Auburn to meet his daughter, Lizzie.

James Disney-May earned his first career Commonwealth Games medal for England, swimming the second leg in the 4x100 freestyle relay final to earn bronze. Disney-May posted a strong anchor split in the 4x100 free relay during the morning session to vault England into the final. The former Tiger also competed in two individual events, earning a spot in the 100 freestyle final.

Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace captured silver in the 50 butterfly at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, setting the Bahamian record at 25.53. She also appeared in the finals for 50 and 100 freestyle events, taking fourth in the 50 and fifth in the 100.
