    In just one week, the opening ceremonies will signal the beginning of the 2012 Olympic Games. AuburnTigers.com and Auburn social media will be your headquarters for following Auburn's 28 representatives taking part in the 30th Olympiad. Auburn Athletics has launched a special website on AuburnTigers.com to help fans stay updated on all the latest from London. AU's many social media accounts will also feature exclusive original content.

    The website features video vignettes introducing the fans to Auburn's 2012 Olympians, as well as blogs and will track the official Auburn medal count. Use the page to follow the schedule of events for Auburn Athletes and historical information about past Olympic greats.

    Blogs:
    Auburn head swimming coach Brett Hawke is serving as head coach to the Bahamian swimming team and will provide a blog with updates, photos and videos from London. A fan blog will also be open to comments and pictures from fans enjoying the games at home or attending in London. Send all blog content to markets@auburn.edu with the subject line "Olympic Blog."

    Make sure to follow @AUAthletics to get up-to-the-minute updates. Fans can also join the conversation on Twitter during the Games using the hashtag #AUOlympics.


     

     

    Facebook:
    Auburn will introduce a special Facebook feature, "Weagle" the Auburn Sock Monkey. Weagle traveled to London over the summer and will spend the 17 days of the Olympic Games visiting notable sites in the UK. Become a fan on www.facebook.com/AUAthletics to follow all of Weagle's antics.

    Pinterest:
    A special Pinterest board to commemorate the games can be seen on the official Auburn Pinterest. Make sure to add "Auburn Olympics" to your pin description and get repinned by AUAthletics.

    The 2012 Olympics are set to begin with the Opening Ceremony on July 27 in London. Swimming competition will kick off on July 28 with track and field beginning on August 3.
