RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Emily Kukors picked up her second gold medal of the 15th Pan American Games Thursday, swimming as part of the winning 400m freestyle relay team.
Kukors swam the third leg in the relay, finishing her 100 meters in 55.31, contributing to the winning time of 3:41.97. Team USA took the gold medal by nearly a second over host country Brazil.
The win marks her second gold medal of the Pan Am Games as she swam on the gold medal-winning 800m freestyle relay team on Wednesday.
With today's win, Kukors becomes the first female swimmer in Auburn's history to earn multiple gold medals at the Pan Am Games.
The gold medal is the fourth for Auburn swimmers at this year's games and the sixth medal overall. Cesar Cielo and Ava Ohlgren have also earned golds so far this week.
Also competing Thursday is Alana Dillette, competing for the Bahamas. She started off the day with an eighth-place finish in the 100m backstroke with a time of 1:05.19.
Dillette also swam in the 400m freestyle relay, swimming the second leg for the Bahamas. She finished her 100 meters in 27.08, the fastest on the team, for an overall time of 3:53.91.
Thursday's schedule included finals for the women's 100m backstroke, women's 100m breaststroke, men's 200m backstroke and the women's 400m freestyle relay. Friday's medal events are the 200m freestyle, 200m IM and the men's 400m freestyle relay.
All of the swimming events are scheduled to take place at the Maria Lenk National Aquatic Center in Rio de Janeiro.
