One current member of the Auburn men's diving team and one former member of the women's team are competing at the Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships in Boyd, Md.
Rising sophomore Dan Mazzaferro teamed with JJ Kinzbach to place third in the finals of the men's synchronized platform on Friday with a score of 362.61. Their third-place finish should earn Mazzaferro a trip to the 2007 Summer World University Games. They had finished third in the prelims with a score of 321.06.
Mazzaferro also competed in the prelims of the men's platform, placing 10th with a score of 333.20 and earning himself a spot in Sunday's finals.
Former Tiger Ashley Rubenstein, in her final competition before retiring from the sport, finished fourth in the finals of the women's 1-meter springboard on Wednesday with a score of 266.65. She had placed eighth in the prelims with a score of 228.55.
On the 3-meter board, Rubenstein finished fifth in the prelims with a score of 264.70 to qualify for Sunday's finals.
