Competition Continues for Tigers at Spring Nationals; Hunt Added to Duel in the Pool Roster

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Tigers placed four swimmers in the finals of four different events on Friday as competition continued at the ConocoPhillips Spring National Championships at the Indianapolis IUPUI Natatorium.
Auburn alum Dave Denniston collected the highest Tiger finish of the day, placing sixth in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:02.41. Senior Andy Haidinyak also had a solid night session, touching the wall in a time of 53.74 in the 100m butterfly.
On the women’s side, senior Maggie Bowen placed eighth in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:11.94 despite going 1:11.12 in prelims. Sophomore Margaret Hoelzer then clocked a 1:01.36 in the finals of the 100m butterfly to placed 10th despite a prelims time of 1:01.08.
In other news from Indianapolis, Auburn junior Bryce Hunt was added to the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool roster, joining current Tiger Ryan Wochomurka and AU alums Denniston, Scott Tucker and Kevin Clements on the David Marsh-led men’s roster.
