NCAA Men's Swimming And Diving Championships: Day Three Prelims

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Auburn men's swimming and diving team qualified four individuals and one relay to Sunday night's finals of the 2010 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships held at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State University. "We have definitely missed opportunities this meet," head coach Brett Hawke said. "We have some chances to win races tonight and we hope to finish the meet on a strong note." A pair of Tiger sprinters swam their way into the 100 free championship final. Adam Brown swam the fourth-fastest time of 42.33, while Gideon Louw finished seventh in 42.41. Auburn qualified one swimmer to the 200 breast championship final in Adam Klein. The junior from New Orleans swam a season-best time of 1:53.55 to finish third overall and reach his second-straight 200 breast championship final. The Auburn swimmers concluded the afternoon's preliminaries strong with the 400 free relay. The team of Christopher Fox, Brown, Michael Silva and Louw swam the fastest time in the event, touching in 2:50.85. Senior diver Kelly Marx had another great day off the boards. The Overland Park, Kan., product qualified for his second championship final of the meet, finishing seventh in the platform preliminaries with a score of 396.50. The meet's final night of competition begins at 7 p.m. EST with the 1650 free. That is followed by the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform and 400 free relay. Auburn Swimming and Diving
