NCAA Women's Championships - Day 3 Prelims

INDIANAPOLIS - Senior Micah Lawrence advanced to the consolation final in the 200-yard breaststroke, and the 400 freestyle relay team also made the B-final on the final morning of preliminaries at the 2013 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
Lawrence clocked a time of 2:09.39 in the morning preliminaries to qualify 11th overall and advance to the consolation final of the 200 breast for the second time in this event at the NCAA Championships. She finished 16th at the 2010 national meet. Fellow senior Lauren Norberg clocked a 2:11.20 to finish 26th overall, and sophomore Abby Duncan was 41st with a season-best time of 2:13.21.
In other action this morning, Riordan posted a 48.96 in the 100 freestyle prelims to tie for 22nd overall, while Bos was 34th with a 49.25 and Scott was 35th in 49.34. And in the 200 backstroke, freshman Jillian Vitarius finished 39th with a 1:56.40 and Aubrey Peacock swam a 1:59.45.
Finals get underway at 7 p.m. ET. Senior Katie Gardocki will start things off swimming in the final heat of the 1,650-yard freestyle, and Lawrence's 200 breast and the 400 free relay will wrap up the meet.
