NCAA Women's Championships - Day 1 Prelims

INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Emily Bos advanced to the consolation final of the 50-yard freestyle, and Auburn's 400 medley relay also made the B-final on a light first morning of preliminary action at the 2013 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Bos clocked a personal-best time of 22.35 seconds to win her heat in the 50 free, tying for 11th place overall and advancing to the consolation final. With her time, Bos also moved into eighth-place all-time among Auburn swimmers in the 50 free.
The 400 medley relay team of Bos, Lindsey Norberg, Scott and Riordan posted a time of 3:33.58 to finish 10th overall in the preliminaries and earn a spot of their own in the consolation final tonight.
In other action, Katie Gardocki finished 36th in the 500 freestyle prelims with a time of 4:45.59, and Micah Lawrence was 54th in the 200 IM with a 2:01.16. The Tigers' 200 freestyle relay was disqualified for an early takeoff in the first race of the day.
