AUBURN - The Auburn women’s swimming team earned 16 spots on the 2009 NCAA Championships psyche sheet, released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA office. The Tigers earned the fourth-most selections behind Georgia, Florida and defending national champion Arizona with 18 apiece.

Auburn will find representation in all swimming events with its greatest numbers coming in the backstrokes and 200 IM.

Seniors Rachel Goh and Margo McCawley earned top-10 seeds in the 100 back, with three more Tiger swimmers making the cut. In the 200 back, Auburn earned five spots on the psyche sheet.

Junior Ava Ohlgren and sophomore Caitlin Geary were seeded third and tenth, respectively, in the 200 IM. Ohlgren is a top-10 seed in all three of her individual events – the 200 IM, 400 IM (3) and the 200 fly (8).

Divers will not be announced until the completion of NCAA Diving Zones March 13-15. The 2009 Women’s NCAA Championships are set for March 19-21 at the Texas A&M Natatorium in College Station, Texas.
