AUBURN - Following an outstanding performance in Auburn's dual meet at Florida last Saturday, Auburn senior diver Vennie Dantin was named the Southeastern Conference Diver of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Dantin swept both boards Saturday in the Tigers' dual-meet at Florida. The Conroe, Texas, native opened up with a 324.22 - less than a point shy of her season-high - in the 1-meter event to win by 58 points. Later in the meet, her winning score of 350.70 in the 3-meter event was 40 points ahead of the second-place finisher. Dantin has now won 15 individual events in 22 attempts this season.

This was Dantin's fifth SEC weekly award of the season. She is currently in the top three in the SEC in all three diving events.

The Tigers are in the midst of preparations for the 2012 SEC Championships, which will be held this year in Knoxville, Tenn. The meet runs Feb. 15-18 at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee.
