AUBURN, Ala. -
Auburn senior Steven Segerlin has been named the Southeastern Conference's Male Diver of the Week, the league office announced today. It marked the first SEC weekly honor of Segerlin's career and was the first such award presented by the SEC this season.
Segerlin had a historic performance at the Georgia Diving Invitational Jan. 3-5, becoming just the second person in 11 years of the event to sweep all three events - 1- and 3-meters and platform. It marked the second straight meet that Segerlin has swept the men's events. He has not lost a 1-meter or platform competition this entire season and finished second just once this season on 3-meter.
Segerlin is an eight-time All-American and was the NCAA Champion on platform last season with a new Auburn and personal record score of 469.30.
Segerlin and the No. 3-ranked Tigers will compete against No. 1 Texas Thursday at 3 p.m.
