BATON ROUGE, La. - Auburn divers Dan Mazzaferro and Kelly Marx took the top two spots on the Platform as the Tigers wrapped up their weekend at the LSU Diving Invitational.

Mazzaferro scored a NCAA zone-qualifying 364.65 in the win, beating out teammate Marx who finished second with a score of 318.05.

"I was very pleased with Dan's improvement since his Georgia Tech Invitational score a couple of weeks ago and the way he came back after not making the finals in the 1-meter yesterday," said head coach Jeff Shaffer. "Kelly just missed one dive, but it is a new dive, so it gives us an opportunity to work on that dive and improve."

Also competing was Scott Morgan, who finished sixth in the event with a score of 284.25.

"Overall, it was a very successful day and a very successful meet," said Shaffer. "Now we fine-tune and get ready for finals and finish the fall semester strong academically and prepare for the championships part of our season."
