KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Auburn junior John Santeiu wrapped up the Tennessee Diving Invite on Saturday with a victory in the men's platform final at UT's Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

Santieu scored a 385.80 in the six-dive final to earn his fifth victory of the season - his second on platform - and end the three-day Knoxville meet on a high note. His score was 24 points higher than his closest competitor.

He was joined in the top 10 by two teammates. Sophomore Fraser McKean earned a third-place finish with a 357.85, and freshman Andrew Laing was eighth with a 304.40. Auburn also got a 15th-place showing from sophomore Michael Beran, who scored a 274.10.

For the Auburn women, sophomore Cinzia Calabretta led the way with a 10th-place finish, scoring 217.45 on her five-dive list. Freshman Carly Scheper was just behind her with a 214.40 to finish 11th, and sophomore Shanna Schuelein was 17th with a 205.70.

Auburn's divers will rejoin the swimmers next week as the spring dual meet season gets underway with a pair of meets. The Tigers will welcome longtime rival Texas to the James E. Martin Aquatic Center on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 3 p.m., before traveling to College Station, Texas, to face new conference foe Texas A&M at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Admission is free to all home Auburn swimming & diving meets.
