Senior Season (2013-14):
Was one of four Auburn student-athletes nominated for the prestigous Rhodes Scholarship...Swam 500 free, 1,000 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM and IM...Fastest time in the 500 free came at Texas, finishing sixth...Swam the 1,000 free at Florida, finishing sixth with a season-best time of 9:52.68...Turned in top times in the breastsroke events at the Auburn Invitational...Finished 15th in the 200 breast at the Auburn Invitational with career-best time of 2:05.40...Placed 19th overall at the Auburn Invitational in the 100 breast, touching the wall at 57.47...Took 19th overall at the Auburn Invitational with a time of 1:51.77 in 200 IM...Posted the team's fourth-best time in the 400 IM at the Auburn Invitational at 3:58.93.

Junior Season (2012-13):
Earned one NCAA 'B' cut time (400 IM), but did not swim in the NCAA Championships...Earned that 'B' cut time in the final regular season meet of the year (Bulldog Last Chance) in a 400 IM time trial (3:52.08)...That time ended up being the third-fastest by an Auburn swimmer during the season...Competed in seven events during the year (50 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM)...Won the 200 IM event against Texas A&M with a time of 1:51.33, his only event win of the year and second-fastest time of the year...His top 200 IM time came also at the Bulldog Last Chance, where he placed second overall, but swam a faster prelim time of 1:49.23...Swam the 50 free in 22 seconds flat against Alabama, finishing in sixth...Fastest 100 breast time came against Texas (57.64), placing fifth and just off his personal-best...Swam his fastest 100 fly time of the year at the Texas meet, placing sixth (50.36)...Clocked a 2:06.40 in the 200 breast at the Georgia Fall Invite and just missing out on making the C-final, placing 25th.

Sophomore Season (2011-12):
Competed at 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha ... Posted time of 2:12.58 in 200m IM prelims ... Swam in an exhibition role at 2012 SEC Championships ... Swam exhibition in 200 fly (1:55.00), 200 IM (1:50.64) and 400 IM (3:59.99) ... Posted season-best times in 200 IM (1:50.51) and 400 IM (3:57.19) ... Best time in 200 back came in dual meet at LSU (1:52.09) ... Also had a season-best in 200 fly at UGA Invite (1:52.53)... Finished 3rd in 200 fly at LSU ... Earned runner-up finish in 400 IM vs. Penn State ... Advanced to consolation final in 400 IM at Georgia Invitational ... Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Freshman Season (2010-11)
Competed in several dual meets along with the Georgia Invitational and Bulldog Invitational ... Barely missed an NCAA `B' cut time in the 200 IM with a 1:49.93 at the Bulldog Invite ... Also posted a 56.96 in the 100 breast at the Bulldog Invite for his best time of the year in that event ... Top times in the 200 free (1:45.58) and 500 free (4:51.86) came in the dual meet against Alabama ... Posted top times in the 200 breast (2:06.13) and 400 IM (4:02.32) at the Georgia Invitational.

High School
Swam for St. Paul's Episcopal and for the City of Mobile Swim Association ... Member of the 2009 Speedo Junior National Championships winning 200 free relay ... Reached the consolation final of the 100 breast at the 2009 Short Course Junior Championships ... Three-time Alabama state champion ... High School All-American ... 2010 class salutatorian ... Three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-America.

Son of Richard and Melissa Kerns ... Has a brother, Tyler, and sister, Haleigh ... Father and brother played baseball for South Alabama and sister swam for Kentucky.
