Junior Season (2008-09)
Earned gold as a member of the United States 400m medley relay at the 2009 FINA World Championships ... Finished seventh in th e100m fly (51.42) and also swam in the 50m fly ... Swam in four events at the 2009 U.S. Nationals ... Runner-up in the100m fly in 52. 20 ... Took 17th in the 50 free (22.28) and the 100 free (49.43)Earned six All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Championships ... Member of the national champion 400 medley relay squad that finished in 3:01.39, a new NCAA record ... Swam the fourth leg of the 400 free relay that took first in 2:46.67 ... Runner-up in the 100 fly in 44.63, after swimming a school-record 44.67 in prelims ... Took fifth in the 200 fly in 1:42.44 and finished 15th in the 200 IM (1:44.18) ... Sophomore Season (2007-08)
Competed in the 100m free, 200m fly and 100m fly at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials... Qualified in the finals of the 100 fly where he swam to a fourth-place finish with a time of 52.31... Swam in the semifinals in the 200m fly where he finished 10th overall (1:59.31), also finished 40th in the 100m free (50.34)... At the NCAA Championships, McGill earned All-America honors in the 100 fly, along with two honorable mentions honors in the 200 fly and the 800 freestyle relay... Swam to an eighth-place finish in the finals of the 100 fly, posting a time of 46.39... Swam the lead leg in the 800 free relay (6:26.11) that finished 11th... Individually, he also swam to a 10th-place finish in the 200 fly (1:43.15) and a 17th-place finish in the 200 IM (1:46.04)... At the SEC Championships, he swam the lead leg in the 800 free relay that finished third (6:26.10)... Individually, McGill swam to a third-place finish in the 100 fly (46.89), and two sixth place finishes in the 200 fly (1:45.29) and the 200 IM (1:47.28).
Freshman Season (2006-07)
Earned a spot on the U.S. National Team for the Japan International Grand Prix... Came in third in the 200m fly B Final (1:59.04) and fourth in the 100m fly B Final (53.66)... Also competed in the 100m free and 200m free... Finished sixth in the 200m fly (2:00.43) at the U.S. Senior National Championships... Also came in second in the 100m fly B Final (53.85) and 31st in the 200m IM preliminaries (2:06.81)... A two-time All-American at the NCAA Championships... Swam on Auburn's sixth-place 800 free relay team... Finished 11th in the 200 fly with a time of 1:45.04... Also competed in the 100 fly, finishing 27th in prelims with a 47.67...
